Business leaders across Indiana join forces to build stronger career pathways for local workers

Indianapolis, Indiana – A new effort is underway in Indiana to bridge the gap between what employers need and what job seekers can offer. Through a unique program known as the TPM Academy of Indiana®, business and workforce leaders are being trained to better align talent development with real-world demands.

This initiative focuses on Talent Pipeline Management (TPM), a strategy that helps employers shape and support career pathways tailored to their current and future workforce needs. Unlike traditional education or training programs, TPM is demand-driven—it starts with the job and works backward to ensure students and workers are developing the right skills for open positions.

“The TPM Academy equips you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to implement talent supply chain solutions,” the program states. These solutions are designed to bring value to all parties involved, from students and workers to education partners and hiring companies.

Those who complete the Academy can take a final assessment to earn recognition as a TPM Talent Supply Chain Manager, signaling their ability to lead coordinated efforts in workforce development. The program is free to accepted participants thanks to generous funding from TPM Indiana supporters.

The Academy is open to a wide range of professionals involved in shaping local talent pipelines. Eligible applicants include representatives from regional and local chambers of commerce, workforce boards, technical education programs, and state agencies. Employers in fields such as advanced manufacturing and cybersecurity are also encouraged to apply, as are those who represent broader employer interests in the community.

“These solutions create shared value for students, workers, education and training partners, and employers,” the program adds, underscoring its inclusive approach to workforce development.

Applications for the TPM Academy of Indiana are currently being accepted, with a deadline of April 28. As Indiana continues to strengthen its economy, this program represents a collaborative step forward—one that ensures the people entering the workforce are ready to meet the challenges and opportunities of today’s industries.
