The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce has officially opened the nomination process for the 2025 Women Excel Bloomington Awards to recognize exceptional women leaders in the community

Bloomington, Indiana – The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce has officially opened the nomination process for the 2025 Women Excel Bloomington (WEB) Awards, an event that celebrates the outstanding leadership and contributions of local women who have made a significant impact in both their professional organizations and the broader Bloomington community. This prestigious annual event, now in its 15th year, honors women who inspire others through their commitment to service, mentorship, and community-driven leadership.

The WEB Awards recognize women from all walks of life, whether they are business leaders, nonprofit organizers, or civic-minded individuals who lead by example. Since its inception, the awards have been a cornerstone of Bloomington’s celebration of female leadership, and this year promises to uphold that tradition with a fresh cohort of deserving honorees.

“We encourage our community to help us recognize the remarkable women who lead with purpose and inspire others to grow,” said Eric Spoonmore, President & CEO of the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. “By nominating someone for the Women Excel Bloomington Awards, you’re not only honoring their contributions—you’re uplifting the values of leadership, mentorship, and community impact that make Bloomington thrive.”

This year, the awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, at One World at Woolery Mill, where selected nominees will be formally recognized for their work in shaping the local community through both their professional and volunteer efforts. These women play a pivotal role in fostering growth and development within their respective fields, demonstrating an unwavering dedication to helping others excel.

Nominees for the WEB Awards must meet several key criteria. First, they must be at least 21 years old and should have a history of professional and community involvement. One of the most important aspects of the nomination process is that nominees cannot have previously won a WEB Award, ensuring that the award continually highlights fresh talent and leadership.

Additionally, while Chamber membership is not required for most nominees, those who live outside of Monroe County must be members in good standing. The goal is to include a wide variety of women who actively contribute to their professions and communities, ensuring that the awards are truly representative of the diverse leadership in Bloomington.

Nominees should also exhibit a balance between their professional work and their contributions to community service or volunteer efforts. Whether through mentoring others, leading charitable initiatives, or being involved in local organizations, these women are committed to making a difference both in and outside of the workplace.

“These awards are about recognizing women who not only excel in their careers but also invest in their community and in helping others grow,” said Spoonmore. “We are excited to celebrate these outstanding individuals who exemplify the spirit of leadership, empowerment, and collaboration that makes our community so vibrant.”

The WEB Awards are more than just an evening of celebration—they are a reminder of the power of women in leadership and the significant impact they have on shaping both the professional and civic landscape of Bloomington. This year’s event promises to be a memorable occasion, filled with inspiring stories of women who lead with purpose, courage, and determination.
