Bloomington, Indiana – Bloomington residents who rely on neighborhood street parking have a new item for their annual checklist. The city has opened applications for its next round of residential parking permits.
The process is fully digital this year. No counter visit, paper application or in person permit purchase will be available.
The City of Bloomington announced that residential parking permits for the 2026-2027 period can now be purchased online. Residents living in Neighborhood Parking Zones 1 through 6 and 9 through 11 may submit applications through the city’s permit portal at bloomington.t2hosted.com.
Together, those nine zones cover parts of the city where a neighborhood permit is required to park legally on designated streets. Residents who are uncertain whether their address falls within a regulated area can review the city’s neighborhood parking map at bton.in/resip.
Applicants should gather the required records before beginning the online process. Documents may include current vehicle registration for each vehicle, a driver’s license and proof of residence. Accepted residency documents include a current property tax statement, utility bill or a signed and dated lease.
Residents using disability parking privileges must also provide information connected to their disability parking placard or disability license plate.
Some applicants will need to submit additional records. The city requires further documentation from Indiana University students who live in Greek houses or at the Collins Living-Learning Center.
Once an application is approved and the permit is processed, it will be mailed directly to the resident. Because all applications must be completed online, permits cannot be purchased in person from Parking Services.
The online system places more responsibility on residents to upload accurate and current information, making preparation important. Missing or outdated documents could prevent an application from being completed promptly.
Step by step instructions explaining how to navigate the permit portal are available at bton.in/~rPkE.
Residents who have questions about eligibility, required documents or the application process may contact Bloomington Parking Services by email at [email protected] or by phone at 812-349-3436.
With the new permit period approaching, residents in the affected zones are encouraged to check their documents, confirm their parking zone and complete the online application before they need the permit on their windshield.
