For families who love crafts and festive treats, Jingle Jars at Ellenberger Park on December 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. is an ideal choice. Participants will create their own hot cocoa jars, layering instant cocoa mix with favorite toppings and including a peppermint spoon. This hands-on activity allows attendees to enjoy holiday music, sip a warm cup of cocoa, and leave with a homemade gift that doubles as a delicious snack. Admission for this heartwarming program is $5, offering a fun and affordable way to get into the holiday spirit.

Indy Parks is also focusing on sustainable celebrations this season through the A Very Upcycled Christmas programs at Garfield Park Arts Center. On December 13 from 2 to 3 p.m., families can craft Upcycled Ornaments, turning extra jar lids and other household materials into festive tree decorations for just $5. A week later, on December 20, participants can join the Upcycled Cards program, using collage and printmaking techniques to create unique, eco-friendly holiday greetings. These programs encourage creativity while promoting sustainable practices, proving that giving back to the environment can be as joyful as giving gifts.

Children eager to connect with Santa Claus can participate in the Letter to Santa Workshop at Krannert Park on December 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. For only $3, attendees will enjoy a cozy, festive environment to write their letters and send their holiday wishes straight to the North Pole. “Join us for a heartwarming holiday tradition at our Letter to Santa Workshop!” organizers encourage, emphasizing the joy of creating lasting holiday memories with family and friends.

For a relaxed community gathering, Christmas Cafe at Grassy Creek Park on December 18 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. offers a free opportunity to enjoy hot cocoa, fun crafts, and a special gift for every child. Families can gather inside the new community center to share in the holiday spirit, while children engage in creative activities under the guidance of Grassy Creek staff. The event combines comfort, cheer, and a sense of togetherness for all participants.

Holiday enthusiasts looking to add a personal touch to their gifts can attend the DIY Wrapping Paper class at Washington Park on December 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. During this $20 program, participants will learn to print their own wrapping paper and explore unique wrapping techniques and embellishments, ensuring that presents are as thoughtful as the sentiment behind them. This hands-on experience provides both practical skills and creative inspiration for the season.

The festive offerings continue at Christian Park’s Christmas Celebration on December 20 from 12 to 2 p.m. Children can step into Santa’s Workshop to decorate cookies, sip hot chocolate, play classic reindeer games, and receive a special gift.
