Indiana Chamber invites Hoosier business leaders to Washington for the annual D.C. Insider event to connect with federal policymakers

Indianapolis, Indiana – This fall, Hoosier business leaders will have a unique opportunity to connect directly with policymakers and gain insight into federal legislation impacting their organizations. The Indiana Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual D.C. INsider event, formerly known as the D.C. Fly-In, on October 7 and 8. The two-day forum aims to bridge the gap between Indiana’s business community and the people shaping the national policy landscape.

A central feature of the event is a breakfast panel discussion with members of Indiana’s congressional delegation, moderated by Gerry Dick, founder and host of Inside Indiana Business. The session offers attendees a firsthand look at legislative priorities and federal initiatives affecting industries across the state.

“With all that’s happening on the federal front, the business community’s involvement has never been more important,” said Indiana Chamber President and CEO Vanessa Green Sinders. “We’re asking attendees to bring their thoughts, concerns and encouragements on the busy federal scene, including legislation, tariffs, executive orders, rulemaking and more.”

In addition to the congressional panel, the agenda features a series of policy roundtables with chiefs of staff and legislative directors from the Indiana delegation. These discussions will give business leaders the chance to explore critical topics in depth, including the CHIPS Act, defense realignment, and other federal programs influencing the state’s economic and industrial sectors.

Attendees can also take part in a twilight tour of the U.S. Capitol with U.S. Representative Rudy Yakym (IN-02), offering a rare behind-the-scenes view of the nation’s legislative halls. The event is designed to foster dialogue, encourage collaboration, and ensure that Indiana’s business perspectives are heard in the corridors of power.

The D.C. INsider event will take place at the Embassy Suites by Hilton D.C. Convention Center, which serves as the official hotel for attendees. Indiana Chamber organizers advise participants to reserve rooms by September 7 to receive the Chamber’s special rate, subject to availability. Registration for the event is available online at www.indianachamber.com/dc.

The initiative is supported by a mix of corporate sponsors, including gold sponsor CLEAR; silver sponsors Indiana American Water, The Heritage Group, Eli Lilly and Company, and Zimmer Biomet; and contributing sponsor Hoosier Energy. Their support helps ensure that the event provides meaningful opportunities for networking, education, and engagement for Indiana’s business leaders.

As federal policy continues to shape the economic environment, the Indiana Chamber’s D.C. INsider event promises to be a timely and valuable forum. By connecting business leaders with decision-makers, the Chamber hopes to strengthen the voice of Indiana companies in national conversations, while equipping attendees with actionable insights to navigate the complexities of the federal landscape.
