Bloomington, Indiana – The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce has announced that Hannah Hutton, previously a part-time intern, has been promoted to the role of full-time Program Coordinator. In her new position, Hutton will be responsible for managing the planning and execution of over 60 events and programs annually, a key part of the Chamber’s expanding event portfolio. Hutton will report directly to Kaytee Lorentzen, the Chamber’s Director of Communications & Events, who has expressed confidence in Hutton’s ability to excel in this new role.
“To meet the rising demand for high-quality programming and event execution, we created this new full-time position,” said Lorentzen. “Hannah has already proven herself as an invaluable asset in her part-time role. Her strong work ethic, creativity, and attention to detail have enhanced our events tremendously. I’m excited to see her thrive in this expanded capacity.”
Hutton first joined the Chamber in the spring of 2023 as an Events & Program Intern while pursuing her degree in Tourism, Hospitality, & Event Management with a minor in Media & Creative Advertising at Indiana University. During her internship, she quickly demonstrated a keen eye for event planning and management. Her contributions included involvement in several major Chamber initiatives, such as Showcase Bloomington, the Women Excel Bloomington Awards, and the Member Appreciation campaigns. Additionally, Hutton played a pivotal role in redesigning the Chamber’s Impact Report, which helped elevate the organization’s visual branding and marketing materials.
“I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity to continue growing with the Chamber,” said Hutton. “Event planning is a passion of mine, and I deeply value being part of a team that seeks to serve and make such a meaningful positive impact on our business community. I look forward to being part of the continued development of our programs and initiatives.”
Hutton’s promotion comes as the Chamber continues to grow its portfolio of programs and events aimed at strengthening and supporting the local business community. The new full-time role reflects the increasing demand for skilled event coordination as the Chamber looks to expand its influence and engagement in the region.
Hutton is originally from Warsaw, Indiana, and is currently a senior at Indiana University, where she is set to graduate in May 2025. Despite her busy schedule, Hutton remains dedicated to her community outside of work as well. She actively volunteers with Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, where she leads a high school girls’ small group and serves on the college greet team. This commitment to service mirrors the values that she brings to her professional life, making her an integral part of the Chamber’s team.
“Hannah has demonstrated outstanding initiative and creativity in her work with the Chamber,” said Eric Spoonmore, President & CEO of the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce. “Her promotion to full-time Program Coordinator is a reflection of the exceptional value she brings to our team and the community we serve.”
