Constellation Stage & Screen announces exciting lineup of fall 2025 educational classes

Bloomington, Indiana – After a summer filled with lively camps, Constellation Stage & Screen is gearing up for an even more thrilling fall. The theater company has announced an engaging and diverse lineup of educational programming for students and adults, with classes running from September through December 2025. Whether you’re a budding young artist, a teenager with dreams of the stage, or an adult eager to explore new artistic skills, Constellation has something for everyone.

For the youngest group, Constellation continues to offer the beloved Theater Playground program, with some refreshing new themes for this fall. For the Littles (grades K-2), the new season will feature Theater Playground: Aesop’s Fables, Acting Ensemble for Littles: Where the Wild Things Are, and Musical Theater Playground: Lions & Ogres & Beasts. These classes aim to introduce children to the exciting world of storytelling through acting, movement, and music, with the added benefit of being able to engage in classic tales that are both educational and fun.

As the children grow older, Constellation also has a wealth of programs lined up for the Kids (grades 3-6). These young performers will dive into the worlds of some of the most iconic shows, with Acting Ensemble and Broadway Kids classes focusing on beloved classics like Charlotte’s Web, Beauty and the Beast, and The Sound of Music. These courses offer students the opportunity to learn the foundations of acting while also gaining insight into the magic of musical theater and the performances that have captured audiences’ hearts for generations.

For older students, Constellation is offering a brand-new opportunity with Minecraft Moviemaking, a class inspired by the globally popular video game and recent blockbuster movie. This innovative class will give both Kids and Teens (grades 7-12) the chance to explore the art of filmmaking in a fun, engaging way. From working in front of the camera to understanding the behind-the-scenes technical aspects, students will work together to create their own cinematic masterpiece based on the Minecraft universe. It’s a perfect blend of creativity and technology, designed to inspire the next generation of filmmakers.

But the fun doesn’t stop with the younger generations. Constellation is also offering exciting programming for Adults (ages 18+), including two brand-new courses designed to expand artistic horizons. One of these courses, Playwriting: The 10-Minute Play, will be led by local artist and writer Nicole DeSalle. The class is tailored for aspiring playwrights, guiding them through the process of creating a short but impactful 10-minute play from start to finish. The second new offering for adults is Intro to Stage Combat, a six-week course that introduces participants to the art of safe but realistic combat on stage. This class will provide valuable skills for anyone interested in theater or film production.

In addition to these new adult classes, Constellation will be bringing back some old favorites, such as Improv for Adults (with both beginner and beyond beginner levels) and The Broadway Ensemble. These returning classes have always been a hit, offering participants a chance to tap into their creativity, learn the art of improvisation, and gain confidence through performance.

When it comes to the fall season, Constellation’s Education Director Eric Shelley is particularly excited about the wide array of classes offered across multiple genres, disciplines, and age groups. “In addition to introducing new disciplines like playwriting and stage combat to our fall lineup, we continue to offer our ever-popular improv program for adults, as well as an array of acting, filmmaking, and musical theater classes for kids and teens that explore both classic and modern works. From Charlotte’s Web and Where the Wild Things Are to Minecraft and Beauty and the Beast, fall 2025 promises to be our most dynamic session yet.”

For those eager to get started, enrollment for all of Constellation’s fall classes opened on July 16. Prices for classes range from $115 to $225, depending on the length and level of the course. Registration is available online through Constellation’s website, and participants can find detailed information about each class, along with the ability to register directly through their online portal at seeconstellation.org/education/classes/.

One of the highlights of Constellation’s educational offerings is its commitment to making the arts accessible to all students. Thanks to a partnership with IU Credit Union, Constellation is proud to offer scholarships for students in grades K-12. These scholarships, which allow eligible students to attend classes at no cost, are an incredible resource for families who might otherwise struggle to afford the cost of artistic education. More information about scholarship applications and eligibility can be found on Constellation’s website.

“We are so pleased to be able to continue offering these scholarships,” said Shelley. “We believe that every student, regardless of financial background, should have access to high-quality arts education, and we are grateful to IU Credit Union for their ongoing support of this important initiative.”

The classes at Constellation Stage & Screen are more than just a chance to learn about performing arts—they are a chance to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and explore new creative avenues. Whether you’re a parent hoping to nurture your child’s artistic talent, a teen looking to make a mark in the theater world, or an adult looking to push the boundaries of your creative expression, Constellation’s fall lineup has something to offer.

As the excitement builds for the fall session, Constellation’s team is ready to welcome a new group of enthusiastic students. Whether it’s through acting, musical theater, improv, or filmmaking, the organization continues to be a pillar of creativity and educational excellence in the community.
