Bloomington, Indiana – Mental Health America of Monroe County (MHA-MC) is inviting the public to a special evening of recognition, reflection, and celebration at the 5th Annual Monroe County Mental Health Champions Gala. The event will take place on May 16, 2025, at the Bloomington Convention Center, and promises to be a powerful gathering in support of mental health awareness and community connection.
The gala brings together people from all walks of life—advocates, professionals, families, and community members—who share a common goal: to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and ensure that every individual has access to the support they need.
“This event is more than just a celebration,” organizers say. “It’s a night to shine a light on the people and programs that are truly making a difference in Monroe County.”

At the heart of the evening will be a moving awards ceremony recognizing local champions—individuals and organizations who have gone above and beyond in advocating for mental wellness, supporting those facing challenges, and promoting inclusive care throughout the region.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from Dr. Anna S. Mueller, a nationally respected expert in youth suicide prevention and the social factors that influence mental health. Her keynote address is expected to bring powerful insight and inspiration, especially for those working directly with young people in schools, clinics, and community spaces.
The event will also include updates on MHA-MC’s ongoing initiatives, offering attendees a look at how the organization continues to build bridges to care, expand outreach, and create safe spaces for mental health conversations across Monroe County.
In addition to the formal programming, the evening promises plenty of joy and celebration. Guests will enjoy a delicious dinner, followed by music and dancing to close out the night in high spirits.

The Monroe County Mental Health Champions Gala has become a highlight of the year for many in the community, and this fifth edition is expected to be the most impactful yet.
