Allen County, Indiana – The Allen County Judicial Nominating Commission has officially launched the process to fill an upcoming vacancy on the Allen Superior Court in the Family Relations Division. The position will become available on September 23, 2025, following the retirement of Judge Andrea Trevino.
Justice Christopher Goff, who serves as Chairperson of the Commission, announced that applications are now available online. Prospective candidates interested in serving on the Allen Superior Court must submit their completed applications through the Indiana Courts Portal by Monday, June 30 at 12:00 p.m. (Eastern Time). The application process is fully digital and strictly adheres to the deadline.
To be considered for the judicial position, applicants must meet several eligibility criteria. According to Indiana law, candidates must be residents of Allen County not only at the time of application but throughout their potential term of office. In addition, they must be attorneys in good standing, having been admitted to the bar of Indiana for at least five years.

Further restrictions apply: applicants must not have a prior felony conviction and must not have been subjected to disciplinary action by the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission or any similar body in another state. These requirements are outlined under Indiana Code §§ 33-33-2-10 and 33-33-2-40.
Once the application period ends, the Allen County Judicial Nominating Commission will conduct interviews with qualified candidates. These public interviews are expected to take place in July, and further details regarding dates and times will be shared online.
After all interviews are completed, the commission will enter an executive session to deliberate on the applicants. They will then reconvene in a public session to vote on the top three finalists.
This panel of three nominees will be submitted to Governor Mike Braun, who will make the final appointment decision.
