Bloomington residents invited to hear Mayor Kerry Thomson outline city progress and future plans during March 31 2026 State of the City Address

Bloomington, Indiana – Residents of Bloomington will soon gather for one of the city’s most anticipated civic traditions, as Mayor Kerry Thomson prepares to share an update on the community’s direction and achievements during the 2026 State of the City Address.

The annual event is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31, and will take place at the historic Buskirk-Chumley Theater, located at 114 East Kirkwood Avenue.

City officials say the evening will offer residents a clear look at Bloomington’s progress while outlining the priorities shaping the months and years ahead. The address serves as a moment of reflection and forward thinking, bringing together community members, civic leaders, and local organizations to hear directly from the mayor about the city’s current momentum and future plans.

Doors to the theater will open at 5:30 p.m., giving attendees time to settle in before the formal presentation begins at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, reinforcing the city’s effort to keep residents closely connected to local government and the decisions guiding Bloomington’s growth.
