Indianapolis, Indiana – Community members who have ever considered a career in law enforcement are being invited to log on and learn more next week. On Tuesday, March 3, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department will host its second annual “Her Badge, Her Impact” virtual recruiting event, offering a closer look at opportunities within the department.

The one-hour online session will run from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and is free to attend. Organizers say the event is open to anyone curious about working with IMPD, whether they are actively seeking a career change or simply exploring their options in public service.

Participants will hear directly from female officers serving within the department. They will share their personal experiences, describe their career paths, and reflect on the challenges and rewards of wearing the badge. The goal is to provide an honest and informative perspective on modern policing and the many roles that support public safety across the city.

In addition to spotlighting sworn officer positions, the session will outline the range of careers that contribute to IMPD’s work in the community. Officials say the event is designed to show how individuals from diverse backgrounds can find meaningful ways to serve.

The virtual format allows attendees to join from anywhere, making it easier for working professionals, students, and community members to participate. Those interested must register in advance using a valid email address to receive the login link. Registration is available online at https://forms.gle/iUjZPdEr2tD3ZQTeA.

Department representatives describe the event as an opportunity not only to learn about employment pathways, but also to understand how public service careers can shape communities in lasting ways. For many, the evening could serve as a first step toward a new direction — one rooted in service, leadership, and impact.
