Bloomington, Indiana – White Pine Local, LLC has announced the addition of interior designer Gabrielle Cortez to its growing creative team, marking an exciting new chapter for both the firm and the designer. Cortez, who goes by Gabby, joins the company as a full-time Interior Designer and will work closely with Anna Newell, President, Stacy Hardy, Architectural Designer, and Grace Pendleton, Junior Designer.
The firm says Cortez brings a wide range of experience that adds depth and versatility to White Pine Local’s design approach. With a background that spans entertainment, workplace, and immersive environments, her skill set aligns well with the company’s diverse portfolio of projects.
Cortez earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Purdue University–Indianapolis in 2019. Shortly after graduating, she began her professional career at a local design firm in Indianapolis, where she focused on highly specialized and interactive spaces. Her early work included designing family entertainment facilities and immersive attractions such as laser tag arenas, mini golf courses, escape rooms, and STEM-focused rooms. These projects required a strong understanding of user experience, spatial storytelling, and technical coordination.
After five years in the entertainment design sector, Cortez shifted her focus to corporate interiors. She went on to design private offices and large-scale open office environments for a well-known pharmaceutical company based in Indianapolis. That role allowed her to gain experience in workplace strategy, collaboration spaces, and functional design tailored to large organizations.
In late 2025, Cortez made the decision to begin a new phase in her career. She was drawn to White Pine Local, LLC because of the firm’s variety of project types and its emphasis on creative, thoughtful design solutions. The opportunity to work on different kinds of spaces while collaborating with a close-knit design team played a key role in her decision to join the company.
Cortez is a LEED Green Associate, reflecting her commitment to sustainable design principles and environmentally responsible practices. She is also currently working toward NCIDQ certification, an important professional credential in the interior design field. White Pine Local leadership notes that her dedication to continued learning and professional growth aligns with the firm’s values.
With Cortez joining the team, White Pine Local, LLC continues to strengthen its design capabilities while maintaining a collaborative and forward-thinking culture. Her background in both immersive environments and corporate interiors adds a fresh perspective that complements the firm’s existing expertise.
White Pine Local encourages clients, partners, and the community to join in welcoming Gabrielle Cortez to the team. Her arrival signals continued growth for the firm and reinforces its commitment to delivering innovative, well-crafted interior design solutions.
