One person pronounced dead after late night crash in Warren County according to Indiana State Police

Warren County, Indiana – A fatal collision in Warren County late Friday night has left one person dead and another hospitalized, according to the Indiana State Police.

Authorities said the crash happened just after 10 p.m. along State Road 28 near County Road E 50 South. Emergency crews were called to the scene after receiving reports of a two-vehicle accident involving a pickup truck and a passenger car.

Investigators said a 2025 Ram 2500 was traveling eastbound when a 2003 Buick Park Avenue, heading westbound, crossed over the center line. The Buick struck the Ram head-on, causing significant damage to both vehicles.

The driver of the Buick was pronounced dead at the scene by the Warren County Coroner’s Office. “The release said the driver of the Ram was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.” Officials did not immediately provide additional details on the surviving driver’s condition.

Crash reconstruction specialists with the Indiana State Police are continuing their investigation to determine why the Buick veered into the opposite lane. No charges have been filed at this time, and authorities said more information may be made available once the coroner completes their work.

“The release said that the name of the person who died is expected to be released by the Warren County Coroner’s Office.” Officials noted that proper identification and notification of next of kin must occur before any public announcement.

State police urged drivers to remain cautious, especially when visibility is low and traffic is lighter, as collisions can happen without warning.

For now, the community awaits further updates as investigators piece together what led to the fatal crash.
