Bloomington, Indiana – WonderLab has officially welcomed Dallas Evans as its new Executive Director, marking the beginning of an exciting era for the organization. With a strong background in STEM education, museum leadership, and community engagement, Evans is set to bring fresh ideas and dynamic leadership to the beloved science museum.
Evans’ extensive experience in the field makes him a perfect fit for WonderLab’s mission to spark curiosity and inspire lifelong learning. He previously served as the Lead Curator of Nature & Science at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, where he played a pivotal role in developing highly regarded exhibits such as DinoSphere, Treasures of the Earth, and ScienceWorks. His work in exhibit design and education helped make science more accessible and engaging for children and families.
Most recently, Evans has been leading Purdue University’s community development efforts in Marion County. In this role, he focused on nonprofit board development, community engagement, leadership, and grant writing—skills that will be invaluable as he takes on his new position at WonderLab. His passion for informal science education, inclusivity, and sustainability aligns perfectly with WonderLab’s core values.
“I am honored and excited to join WonderLab as its new Executive Director,” Evans said. “I look forward to working with the team to continue creating meaningful and inclusive experiences that inspire curiosity and a love for science.”
To ensure a smooth transition, outgoing Executive Director Karen Jepson-Innes will continue to support the organization as Executive Advisor. Her leadership has played a significant role in shaping WonderLab’s success, and her continued presence will help guide Evans as he settles into his new role.
With Evans at the helm, WonderLab is poised for continued growth and innovation. His expertise in education and engagement, combined with a deep commitment to diversity and excellence, promises an exciting future for the museum and the communities it serves.
