University of Indianapolis president Dr. Tanuja Singh recognized as one of Indiana’s most influential leaders in 2024 Indiana 250 list

Indianapolis, Indiana – Dr. Tanuja Singh, president of the University of Indianapolis, has been named one of the state’s most influential leaders in IBJ Media’s fourth annual Indiana 250, a prestigious list that recognizes key figures driving change and progress across Indiana’s business and civic landscape.

The Indiana 250 highlights leaders who are helping shape the present and future of the state through their work in a wide range of sectors, including education, business, nonprofit service, and community development. Singh joins over 60 new honorees featured in this year’s edition, which showcases individuals making a significant impact across Indiana.

“I am honored to be included among some of the brightest minds and most respected leaders across Indiana,” said Singh. “This recognition is a reflection of the important work happening at the University of Indianapolis as we bring UIndy’s mission to life—relevant and innovative education that focuses on lifelong learning, enriches learners’ lives with purpose and empowers them with skills that prepare them for the real world. Together we’re building a stronger, more vibrant future for our campus, our city and our state.”

Singh, who assumed leadership of UIndy in July 2023, has brought bold vision and energy to the institution. Her leadership has focused on aligning the university with the needs of today’s learners and workplaces, all while reinforcing the university’s strong commitment to community engagement and practical education.

Nate Feltman, CEO of IBJ Media, praised the 2024 class of honorees for their dedication and forward-thinking leadership.

“Every year, we see fresh faces stepping up and driving meaningful change across Indiana,” Feltman said. “The Indiana 250 is a snapshot of those bold thinkers and doers who are shaping the future of our state—from innovative entrepreneurs to dedicated community advocates. It’s truly inspiring to witness the depth of talent and passion making Indiana a great place to live and work.”

The Indiana 250 list is curated annually by editors, journalists, and leadership from IBJ Media’s three affiliated news outlets: Indianapolis Business Journal, Inside INdiana Business, and The Indiana Lawyer. The selection process includes a detailed review of nominations, research into state institutions and businesses, and consultation with community leaders. Notably, elected officials are excluded from eligibility, allowing the focus to remain on leaders working within the business and nonprofit worlds.

This year’s honorees will be celebrated at an exclusive reception hosted at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. In addition to the event, profiles of each honoree are being featured in a special commemorative magazine distributed with the July 25 issue of the Indianapolis Business Journal. The full list is also available at Indiana250.com.

Under her guidance, the University of Indianapolis continues to foster student-centered innovation while remaining deeply rooted in service to the broader community.

Her recognition among Indiana’s top 250 leaders underscores her influence in higher education and her growing role as a force for transformation in the region.

As Singh and the University of Indianapolis look to the future, the focus remains clear: empowering learners, elevating communities, and shaping a better Indiana for the next generation.
