Sterling Real Estate confirms that the company is now under new ownership

Bloomington, Indiana – A new chapter has begun for one of Bloomington’s most recognized real estate firms. Sterling Real Estate, Inc., a trusted name in the region for nearly two decades, has officially announced a change in ownership. Heather Groves, a decade-long employee of the company, is stepping into the role of owner, taking over from founder Trish Sterling.

The announcement marks a significant transition for the firm, which has been a member of the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce since 2006 and consistently ranked among the top 10 real estate brokerages in the region. Despite the ownership change, the company’s mission remains the same—offering expert guidance and trusted service to buyers and sellers throughout Southern Indiana.

“This is an exciting time for me professionally and personally,” said Heather Groves. “Trish Sterling built a solid company, and I am thrilled to be in a position to lead Sterling Real Estate forward. I am honored to perpetuate the legacy of this prominent brand as one of the few woman-owned real estate brokerage firms in Southern Indiana.”

Heather Groves brings deep roots in the Bloomington community and a wealth of experience to her new role. A graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree, Groves has become known as one of Bloomington’s most dedicated advocates. Over the past ten years, she has built a strong reputation in the local real estate scene, working closely with clients and contributing to the firm’s ongoing success.

Although she is stepping down from ownership, Trish Sterling is not leaving the company she founded. Instead, she will continue her work as a realtor, helping clients find their perfect homes while supporting the firm’s evolution under new leadership.

“I couldn’t be happier for Sterling Real Estate,” said Sterling. “The firm is in capable hands, and I have every confidence that Heather will guide it into the future successfully.”

Under Groves’ leadership, Sterling Real Estate is expected to maintain its strong presence in the local market while exploring new opportunities for growth. The firm’s emphasis on personal service, community ties, and trusted real estate expertise is set to remain a hallmark of its work.

With this transition, Sterling Real Estate continues its legacy as a woman-owned business that is deeply woven into the fabric of the Bloomington community. The leadership change signals not just continuity but also fresh energy and new vision for the years ahead.
