Indianapolis, Indiana – One of America’s most recognizable business minds is coming to Indiana this fall. The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has announced that Daymond John, entrepreneur, branding expert, and investor on ABC’s hit show Shark Tank, will headline its 36th Annual Awards Dinner on November 5 at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis.
Presented by Meijer, Inc., the prestigious event will bring together a wide range of Indiana’s business and civic leaders — including top CEOs, public officials, and entrepreneurs — to recognize outstanding achievements across business, government, and community service.
“We’re excited to welcome Daymond John and know attendees will enjoy hearing his story and words of wisdom. Through sacrifice, hard work and perseverance, he rose from humble beginnings to build a business empire that connected profoundly with its audience,” said Vanessa Green Sinders, President and CEO of the Indiana Chamber.
A National Name with Entrepreneurial Roots
John rose to fame as the founder of FUBU, the iconic streetwear brand that revolutionized urban fashion in the 1990s. But his career has extended far beyond apparel. Through his work on Shark Tank, he’s invested in dozens of startups and become a trusted voice on business strategy, branding, and leadership. His keynote at the Indiana Chamber’s dinner is expected to provide insight and inspiration to seasoned business professionals and young entrepreneurs alike.
“As our state continues forging ahead as a leader in Main Street entrepreneurship and innovation, he’s an ideal speaker that will undoubtedly resonate with Indiana’s business leaders and emerging professionals,” Sinders added.
Celebrating Indiana’s Best
The Annual Awards Dinner isn’t just about the keynote — it’s also a time to shine a spotlight on leaders and communities across the state. This year’s event will include the presentation of four major statewide honors:
• Ogletree Deakins Business Leader of the Year
• Birch Bayh-Richard Lugar Government Leader of the Year
• NextEra Energy Resources Dynamic Leader of the Year
• Yamaha Community of the Year
These awards highlight outstanding performance in leadership, innovation, public service, and civic engagement. Winners will be announced during the dinner program in front of an audience of hundreds.
A Gathering of Business and Community Leaders
With attendance expected from every corner of the state, the event promises networking opportunities with leaders from major corporations, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations. Past attendees have included decision-makers from sectors like manufacturing, healthcare, tech, and higher education.
The evening will begin with an opening reception sponsored by PNC, followed by the awards program and John’s keynote. Zimmer Biomet is sponsoring John’s appearance as keynote speaker.
