New documentary It’s Never Over Jeff Buckley will screen on August 18 at 7 PM offering an intimate portrait of the late musician

Bloomington, Indiana – Fans of the late Jeff Buckley will soon have the opportunity to experience his story like never before. A new documentary titled “It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley” is set to screen on August 18 at 7 PM, offering a deeply personal and emotional journey into the life of the iconic singer-songwriter whose voice continues to haunt and inspire nearly three decades after his untimely death.

Directed by Amy Berg, the 1-hour and 46-minute film blends never-before-seen footage, exclusive voice recordings, and intimate memories shared by Buckley’s closest friends and collaborators. More than just a chronological account of his brief but powerful career, the documentary seeks to reveal the man behind the music — the complexity, the vulnerability, and the genius that made him unforgettable.

Buckley, who tragically passed away in 1997 at the age of 30, released only one studio album in his lifetime — Grace — but that single record has become legendary. Known for its emotional depth and genre-defying sound, Grace showcased Buckley’s extraordinary vocal range and his unique ability to blend folk, rock, jazz, and blues into something entirely his own.

“It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley” explores these artistic layers, delving into the themes of love, loss, and longing that run through his music. Buckley’s voice — at times whisper-soft, at others a powerful wail — continues to move listeners, and the film seeks to explain why.

“It’s Never Over, Jeff Buckley” is categorized as both a biography and music film and is not yet rated. While it stands as a tribute, it’s also a raw and unfiltered portrayal of a life cut short — a reminder of the beauty and tragedy often intertwined in artistic brilliance.

Tickets for the August 18 screening are available at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater’s website, and more information on the film can be found on IMDb.

Whether you’re a longtime admirer or discovering Jeff Buckley’s music for the first time, this film promises to be a powerful, unforgettable experience.
