Monroe County, Indiana – The Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) has officially opened enrollment for its 2025-2026 Pre-K program and its popular EdVenture summer camp. Families looking for high-quality early childhood education and engaging summer activities for their children are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
Pre-K Enrollment Now Open
MCCSC’s Pre-K program is available for children who will be four years old by August 1, 2025. This initiative ensures that young learners have access to a strong early education foundation before entering kindergarten. Through the 2023 Referendum, MCCSC is offering significant financial assistance to families. Every MCCSC family, regardless of income, is eligible for at least $4,000 in tuition support, reducing the overall cost of the program from $8,000 to $4,000.
Pre-K classes are held in 13 elementary schools, all of which are state-licensed and hold a Level 4 rating in Indiana’s Paths to QUALITY system. This rating represents the highest standard in early childhood education, ensuring that children receive top-tier instruction and care. Additionally, every classroom is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), guaranteeing a high-quality learning environment.
The Pre-K curriculum is designed to build kindergarten readiness skills with a balance of free-choice activities and structured lessons. Certified teachers guide students through engaging lessons that foster social, cognitive, and motor skill development. Students also benefit from weekly enrichment activities in art, music, and physical education.
Exciting Summer Learning Opportunities with EdVenture Camp
For families looking for an engaging summer experience, MCCSC’s EdVenture Camp is back with a “Mad Science” theme, running from June 2 through July 24. This program is open to children entering Pre-K through 8th grade and offers a variety of hands-on learning activities that combine education and fun.
New this year, the “Little Explorers” camp is designed specifically for Pre-K and kindergarten students. This specialized camp includes a variety of themed activities such as arts and crafts, music, story time, games, and water play, ensuring that younger children have an enriching and developmentally appropriate experience.
Financial Assistance Available
MCCSC is committed to making both programs accessible to as many families as possible. A limited number of scholarships for EdVenture Camp are available for eligible students. To qualify, K-8th grade families must have received Free/Reduced meals during the 2024-2025 school year. Pre-K students from families earning 225% or less of the federal poverty level may attend at no cost, thanks to funding from the 2023 Referendum.
