Marion High School to offer free athletic physicals for all student athletes on July 30

Marion, Indiana – Marion High School is once again helping student-athletes prepare for the upcoming school year by offering free athletic physicals later this month. The free physicals will be available to any student enrolled in Marion Community Schools who plans to participate in school sports during the 2025-26 academic year.

The physicals are scheduled for Tuesday, July 30, and will begin at 5:30 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. Families bringing their students are asked to use the main entrance at the front of the high school, commonly known as Door 1.

These physicals are required for all incoming 5th- through 12th-grade students who want to join any school sports team in the next school year. School officials are reminding parents and students that having a current physical form on file is necessary before the start of any sports season. Without this paperwork, students will not be cleared to participate.

To help make the process faster, the school recommends printing and filling out all necessary paperwork ahead of time — except for the portion the doctor completes during the physical exam. “Parent signature is required,” the school noted, and having the forms completed ahead of time can help participants avoid waiting in additional lines. However, if families are unable to print or fill out forms beforehand, copies will be provided on-site during the event.

School officials say this free service is part of the district’s commitment to ensuring students have every opportunity to succeed, both in the classroom and on the field. Sports physicals are important because they help ensure student-athletes are healthy enough for the physical demands of athletic competition.

The school hopes many students and families will take advantage of this opportunity as preparation for fall sports gets underway.

More information about the required forms, including how to download and print them, is available through the school’s official website.

The free physicals on July 30 provide a convenient way for families to meet this requirement without any cost.
