Local writers encouraged to submit applications to become featured authors at the 2025 Meet an Author Be an Author Book Fair happening in October

Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indianapolis Public Library is once again preparing to bring readers and writers together under one roof with its much-anticipated Meet an Author, Be an Author Book Fair, scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025. Set to take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Central Library, the event promises an engaging afternoon of literary discovery, creative exchange, and community celebration.

This annual book fair is open to the public and is completely free to attend. No registration is required, making it an easy and family-friendly way for readers of all ages to connect with local talent, attend insightful writing workshops, and speak directly with published and aspiring authors alike.

But the real opportunity this summer lies with local writers. The Indianapolis Public Library is now accepting applications from area authors who would like to be featured at the event. Selected authors will receive complimentary table space to promote and sell their books, speak with fans, and network with fellow writers from across the region.

“Featured authors will receive free table space to sell and promote their books, network with other authors, and engage with the public.”

Applications opened on July 7 and will remain open through August 17, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Organizers will begin reviewing submissions immediately following the deadline. Authors can expect to be notified of their acceptance status on or after September 15, 2025.

The Meet an Author, Be an Author Book Fair has grown into a staple event in the Indianapolis literary scene, providing a supportive platform for new and seasoned authors to connect with an enthusiastic audience.
