Indianapolis, Indiana – Ivy Tech is kicking off the new year with an event designed to bring creativity, entrepreneurship, and community together in one place. The college will host its first Pop-Up Shop of the year on Tuesday, February 3, giving students, employees, alumni, and local vendors a shared space to showcase and sell their products.
The Pop-Up Shop will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and marks the beginning of a monthly market series planned throughout the spring semester. Additional Pop-Up Shops are scheduled for March 3, April 7, and May 5, each held on the first Tuesday of the month during the same midday hours.
Organizers say the event is meant to highlight the talent and entrepreneurial spirit within the Ivy Tech community while also strengthening ties with local small businesses. Vendor tables will feature a mix of handmade items, creative goods, and small business offerings, creating a casual shopping experience for anyone stopping by campus during the lunch hour.
The Pop-Up Shop is open to Ivy Tech students, faculty, and alumni, as well as guest vendors from the surrounding community. By hosting a variety of sellers, the event encourages shoppers to support local creators and entrepreneurs while discovering unique products not typically found in larger retail stores.
Participation is designed to be accessible. Vendor booths are offered at no cost, making it easier for first-time sellers or small businesses to take part. Those interested in hosting a booth can complete an online form to receive additional details about the process and event guidelines. The deadline to sign up for the February 3 market is Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 11:59 p.m.
Event organizers note that Ivy Tech is not responsible for vendor transactions, and all sales are handled directly between vendors and customers. This allows sellers full control over their products, pricing, and payment methods.
With multiple dates scheduled through May, the Pop-Up Shop series aims to become a recurring campus highlight. For shoppers, it offers a convenient way to browse local goods. For vendors, it provides valuable exposure and an opportunity to connect with the Ivy Tech community in a supportive, high-traffic setting.
