Ivy Tech Indianapolis launches summer semester with vibrant tie-dye spirit day filled with fun, free pizza, and exciting activities

Indianapolis, Indiana – The summer semester at Ivy Tech Indianapolis started with a burst of color and creativity as the college held its Tie Dye Spirit Day event during Welcome Week.

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, the downtown campus was buzzing with excitement as students participated in a vibrant celebration marking the official start of summer classes. The event was also held at the Plainfield and Lawrence campuses on Wednesday, June 11. Students were invited to tie-dye their very own Ivy Tech t-shirts, enjoy free Domino’s pizza and drinks, and mingle with their peers in a laid-back atmosphere full of energy and fun.

The day featured a lively mix of music, camaraderie, and creativity, as students created everything from bold patterns to unique color combinations on their t-shirts. The tie-dye activity allowed students to express their individuality while connecting with fellow classmates in a festive and welcoming environment.

“This is a great way to kick off the summer semester,” said one of the event organizers. “Not only does it get students involved, but it also builds community spirit and helps everyone feel connected before the serious work of the semester begins.”

As the sun shone down on the lawn and picnic areas, Ivy Tech students embraced the chance to celebrate the start of the summer term with a fun, low-key event. The colorful t-shirts and the laughter shared throughout the day were clear signs of the positive energy that the students and staff hoped would carry through the entire summer semester.
