Indianapolis, Indiana – Ivy Tech Community College is once again opening the door for adults interested in building practical technology skills through its upcoming Code/IT Academy spring cohort, a free and short-term training program designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of information technology. The spring session will run from February 17 through April 24, 2026, offering a flexible and supportive learning option for individuals looking to explore new career paths or strengthen their digital knowledge.
The Code/IT Academy is hosted locally and is geared toward adults at all stages of their professional journey. Whether participants are considering a career change, hoping to upskill for their current job, or preparing for future education, the program is structured to be accessible and beginner-friendly. No prior IT experience is required, making it an entry point for those who may be new to the field.
During the spring cohort, participants will study for the CompTIA IT Tech+ certification, an industry-recognized credential that covers core concepts such as computer hardware, software, networking basics, security, and troubleshooting. The course is designed to build confidence while providing practical knowledge that can be applied in a wide range of workplace settings.
Classes will be held twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m., allowing students to balance coursework with work, family, or other responsibilities. The program follows a hybrid format, combining online instruction delivered by Ivy Tech with in-person support. This blended approach gives students the flexibility of remote learning while still offering hands-on assistance and local guidance when needed.
One of the key benefits of the Code/IT Academy is that participants are provided with up to two attempts at the CompTIA IT Tech+ certification exam at no cost. In addition to technical instruction, the program also includes hands-on guidance and career coaching. These extra supports are intended to help students better understand career options, prepare for job searches, and identify next steps in education or training.
