Bloomington, Indiana – At the forthcoming Traveling Town Hall event, which features Mayor Kerry Thomson, Bloomington residents are invited to interact with their local authorities. The town hall is scheduled for Monday, September 9, and will be held at Binford Elementary, located at 2300 E 2nd Street, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Mayor Thomson will open the evening with a report on the most recent advancements in city projects and continuing activities. Following this will be a session where the Mayor and Council Member Dave Rollo addresses previously asked questions on index cards. Should time allow, the event will open up a live Q&A session allowing locals the opportunity to directly ask questions and voice additional problems to their government representatives.
This event is a part of Bloomington’s commitment to maintaining an accessible and transparent government. Held bi-monthly, these Traveling Town Hall meetings are meant to promote direct engagement between the community and its leaders so that residents have lots of chances to remain informed and involved in the inner life of their city.
Those who would want to visit or attend should get in touch with the Office of the Mayor at 812-349-3406 or visit the official City website bloomington.in.gov. Complementing Bloomington’s objective of an informed and involved citizenry, the event promises to be a useful forum for communication and community involvement.
