Indianapolis, Indiana – A sweeping enforcement effort across Indianapolis ended with 133 arrests after the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department joined forces with a wide network of local, state, and federal agencies for what officials described as a targeted push against some of the city’s most wanted violent offenders.
The multi-day initiative, called Operation Guardian, was built around a simple goal: remove people accused of driving serious violence from the streets while disrupting the weapons and drug activity surrounding them.
By the time the operation concluded, investigators had taken 133 offenders into custody and recovered a significant cache of evidence tied to alleged criminal activity.
Among the items seized were 35 guns, two machine gun conversion devices, about 250 grams of fentanyl, roughly 350 grams of cocaine, 118 pills, and $41,809 in U.S. currency believed to be connected to criminal conduct.
In a release, authorities said those arrested are accused of a wide range of serious offenses, including murder, weapons violations, and drug-related crimes. Final charging decisions, however, will be made by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
What made the operation stand out was not only the arrest total, but the scale of coordination behind it. IMPD led the effort, drawing on several of its own specialty units, including Covert Investigations, the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force, district violent crimes teams, and Violence Reduction Task Forces.
The department was also backed by an extensive list of partners: the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Department of Homeland Security, Indiana State Police, the United States Marshals Service, the FBI’s Indianapolis office, the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, and the ATF.
Together, those agencies concentrated on locating and safely apprehending individuals authorities believe have played a role in fueling violence across the city. The operation was not framed as a single-day crackdown, but as part of a broader strategy aimed at making neighborhoods safer through focused, collaborative enforcement.

The outcome offered a sharp picture of what investigators say they are confronting in Indianapolis: violent crime intertwined with firearms, narcotics, and repeat offenders.
By combining intelligence, manpower, and specialized resources, law enforcement agencies used Operation Guardian to send a clear signal that high-priority violent offenders remain a central focus.
For city residents, the message from the operation was just as direct. Officials are continuing to lean on partnerships, precision enforcement, and coordinated investigations as they work to reduce violence and improve safety across Indianapolis.
