Secretary of State Diego Morales joins ribbon cutting ceremony for the expanding Organic Bread of Heaven bakery in Northwest Indiana

Indianapolis, Indiana – Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales joined local officials and community members to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Organic Bread of Heaven, a family-owned bakery that has seen remarkable growth since its humble beginnings in 2005. What started as a small storefront has now expanded into a thriving commercial operation, serving customers locally and shipping products nationwide and to Canada.

The bakery’s growth highlights Indiana’s strong business climate and the dedication of families who turn their passions into successful ventures. Organic Bread of Heaven has become a symbol of entrepreneurial success, reflecting how local businesses can flourish with community support and strategic investment.

“I’m proud to see family-owned businesses like Organic Bread of Heaven growing and thriving right here in our state,” said Diego Morales, Indiana Secretary of State. “Through our Business Services Division, we’re committed to helping Hoosier entrepreneurs start, grow, and sustain their businesses — because when small businesses succeed, Indiana succeeds. Since the beginning of his administration, Secretary Morales has made it a priority to attract new businesses to Indiana. Through his efforts with the Business Services Division, he has traveled across all 92 counties, meeting countless business owners to thank them for their investment in the Hoosier state and to encourage continued economic growth. His visits have reinforced the administration’s message that Indiana is committed to supporting entrepreneurs at every stage of their journey.

The Business Services Division, led by the Secretary of State, plays a central role in managing and registering businesses throughout Indiana. A key tool for business owners is INBiz, the state’s one-stop portal designed to simplify the process of starting and maintaining a business. Through INBiz, business owners can register, file necessary paperwork, and ensure compliance with state regulations. The platform also guides Hoosiers step by step through the process of running a business in the state, making it an invaluable resource for both new and established entrepreneurs.

Organic Bread of Heaven’s expansion not only benefits its owners and employees but also contributes to the broader economic landscape of Northwest Indiana. By shipping products nationally and internationally, the bakery puts Indiana’s local talent and craftsmanship on display, while supporting the community through employment and engagement. The event drew a crowd of supporters who celebrated the bakery’s success, reinforcing the importance of small businesses as engines of growth for the state.

Secretary Morales emphasized that success stories like Organic Bread of Heaven are central to Indiana’s economic strategy. By helping small businesses navigate regulations, access resources, and expand operations, the state can foster an environment where innovation and entrepreneurship thrive.
