Indianapolis, Indiana – The campus of Ivy Tech Indianapolis was buzzing with activity on Tuesday as hundreds of job seekers filed through the doors for the 14th annual Indianapolis Job and Resource Fair. The event, held in collaboration with Congressman André Carson, brought together a diverse range of employers, community organizations, and eager candidates looking to take the next step in their careers.
More than 550 attendees made their way through the fair, where 80 employers and community partners set up booths to share information, accept applications, and conduct on-the-spot interviews. Among the high-profile participants were Eli Lilly and Company, Eskenazi Health, FedEx, the Indianapolis Zoo, Indianapolis Public Schools, the U.S. Postal Service, the Transportation Security Administration, and Goodwill Industries of Central & Southern Indiana.
Organizers say the fair has become a trusted and anticipated event for the local workforce. By bringing together some of the state’s most recognized employers under one roof, it continues to serve as a direct link between job seekers and potential career opportunities.
“This event is a unique opportunity to serve both our students and our community,” said Julie Johns-Cole, vice chancellor of Ivy+ Career Link at Ivy Tech Indianapolis. “We helped connect some of Indiana’s finest businesses and community organizations to hardworking job seekers. We take pride in knowing that as a team, we helped facilitate the chance of a better job and a better future for many fellow Hoosiers.”
For some attendees, the fair was about more than finding a job—it was a chance to build connections and learn about training opportunities that could prepare them for in-demand roles. Representatives from Ivy Tech’s own career services team were on-site to guide visitors through résumé tips, interview preparation, and networking strategies.
Employers, too, walked away impressed. Many noted that the event’s professional organization and diverse turnout made it one of the most productive job fairs they had attended. Several companies reported collecting dozens of applications from qualified candidates in just a few hours.
Over its 14-year history, the Indianapolis Job and Resource Fair has evolved from a small campus gathering into a major fixture on the city’s employment calendar. It has maintained a strong focus on workforce development while also fostering community engagement, ensuring that job seekers are not only connected to positions but also to support services that can help them succeed in the long term.
With the event’s continued growth and positive reception, organizers expect next year’s fair to draw even more employers and participants. The goal remains the same: to strengthen the ties between Indiana’s businesses, its workers, and the community resources that help them thrive.
