Two City of Bloomington employees test positive for COVID-19, total now 42
Bloomington, Indiana – Two City of Bloomington employees tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total count of positive tests to 42, according to a Friday press release from the City of Bloomington.
The two employees who tested positive work at the Bloomington Fire Department and the Department of Public Works’ Street Division. Ten BFD employees have now tested positive for COVID-19, five of which were reported this week, according to the press release.
The DPW employee is the second in their division to test positive. Neither employee was a close contact to others who tested positive in their workplace, according to the press release.
The BFD employee began experiencing symptoms Sunday and received a positive test result Monday. They last worked Saturday and is currently on paid leave. No close contacts between co-workers or members of the public were identified, according to the press release.
